Even before the COVID-19 global pandemic, economic, geopolitical, environmental, and social factors were placing significant pressure on supply chains. To remain competitive, companies must quickly adapt their supply chains to these rapidly changing conditions. More than ever before, a company’s approach to supply chain analytics will be a significant differentiator. Effective analytics are a competitive advantage to a company, its customer, and its suppliers.


Speaker:  Tor Hough.  Tor, is the founder and Managing Partner of Elm Analytics, a Detroit-based company that provides essential, trusted, third-party supply chain management services. Over the past 35 years, he has been at the leading edge of utilizing information technologies to improve business operations beginning with electronic commerce to currently comprehensive supply chain risk assessments. He is a hands-on leader and has contributed substantially to the programming and architecture that underlies Elm’s enterprise solutions.

He is a graduate of Grinnell College, holds a BA in Political Science, and has decades of experience building supply chain data and risk information systems for global manufacturing clients in the automotive, defense, and heavy equipment sectors. He has served a wide range of clients as a consultant as well as a provider of IT services, including state and local government, Grant Thornton, Toyota, Ford, DLA, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and community development organizations. Over the years, Tor had developed a deep understanding of supply chains, particularly automotive and, too a lesser degree, aerospace.

Tor is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Wayne State University School of Global Supply Chain Management, where he sits on the Leadership Sub-committee.

Tor has held PMP™ project management, IT Infrastructure Language (ITIL®) and, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP™) certifications.
