Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the hottest topics in technology and procurement, but AI is still a relatively new opportunity for most companies.  As a result, most companies are relatively new at procuring AI.  This presentation will cover how to get the right contract in place and ensure that the AI technology delivers the required outcomes, as well as discuss key issues and points to address when contracting for AI and common challenges.

Jonathan Berg is a Member of Bodman PLC’s Enterprise Procurement Practice Group. As an IT and Procurement attorney, Jonathan helps clients efficiently negotiate and structure information technology and other procurement contracts with vendors.  He has specific experience in the areas of information technology, business process and technology outsourcing, mortgage and loan products and services, professional and consulting services, and transportation and logistics and in the banking, automotive, and outsourcing markets.  Jonathan is recognized in Michigan Rising Stars 2020 and in DBusiness Magazine "Top Lawyers" 2020. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Supply Management Southeast Michigan.






Alex Haney is a member of the Enterprise Procurement Group. He represents business clients in the automotive, financial and pharmaceutical industries in the drafting and negotiation of a broad range of vendor contracts.  Alex encourages clients to take a risk based approach to every negotiation, trying to hone in on what is important based on the context of the relationship in order to provide effective and efficient counsel.
